a)      Solar energy collection rate goes down during cloudy days. To prevent this, have a back-up power source ready. This source can also be recharged through solar energy when the sun is up and shining again.

b)      Solar power systems are a bit on the pricey side. Most people still cannot afford solar power systems and at present, the amount of money that can be saved by using solar energy is still not sufficient to meet the price of installing a solar power system. In the future though, more companies are researching innovative and price-competitive solar energy collection that could help the Earth avoid several tons of carbon dioxide emissions in the future.
